GV Prakash Kumar’s recent family entertainer, Happy Raj, will have its OTT premiere on April 24, a fresh opportunity for the film to reach a larger audience. Amazon Prime Video holds the post-theatrical streaming rights, and the movie will stream in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam languages from the said date.
Happy Raj is a step up from GV Prakash Kumar compared to his recent outings, with a good second half blending comedy and family elements. Box-office-wise, Happy Raj performed moderately, a better result for the music director-turned-actor after a string of failures.
Abbas made his comeback with this flick, which features Sri Gouri Priya as the female lead. Produced by Jaivarda under Beyond Pictures, the film also stars George Maryan in a key role. Justin Prabhakaran composed the music.
Another day, another major milestone for Dhurandhar 2. This time, it has made history at the UK box office. The Rs. 1800 crore blockbuster has become the highest-grossing Indian film in the UK, surpassing Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan.
Pathaan was a sensational hit and a much-needed industry success at the time of its release. Now, three years later, its record has been overtaken by Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge. While Pathaan collected £4.380 million, Dhurandhar 2 edged past it with £4.388 million.
Many more records seem set to fall as the film continues its strong run. Meanwhile, audiences are eagerly waiting to watch Aditya Dhar’s blockbuster digitally, with anticipation building around its OTT premiere on Jio Hotstar.
