The project, which was earlier announced with director Aanand L. Rai, will no longer move forward due to budget-related constraints.<\/p>\n<p>Akshay revealed this development during the promotions of his upcoming film Bhoot Bangla, putting an end to ongoing speculation around the project. <\/p>\n<p>Gorkha had generated significant interest when it was first announced, as it was based on the life of a brave Indian Army officer and promised to be a large-scale, patriotic drama.<\/p>\n<p>However, mounting production costs seem to have forced the makers to drop the film altogether.
