A special glimpse from Prabhas’ Fauzi was released recently and received a good response from fans and audiences. However, a scene in the videoo has now sparked controversy.

The glimpse shows Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose introducing Prabhas’ character to Adolf Hitler. Netaji’s grandnephew, Chandra Kumar Bose, objected to this scene, saying it makes
Netaji look like a sidekick to a fictional character.

He also felt that the scene makes Netaji’s meeting with Hitler look like a casual introduction. According to him, Netaji met Hitler as a political leader seeking support for India’s freedom struggle, and the meeting should be shown with the right context and respect.

The family has reportedly asked the makers to apologise and portray Netaji respectfully.
Samajwadi Party MP Awadhesh Prasad also criticised the way the meeting was shown.

The makers’ response to the controversy is now awaited. Mythri Movie Makers is producing this big-budget war action drama. Imanvi, Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Jayaprada and others play key roles. Vishal Chandrasekhar is composing the music. Fauzi is scheduled to release in theatres on March 19, 2027.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

Karthi’s spy thriller Sardar 2 begins streaming on Amazon Prime Video from October 1, just 21 days after hitting theatres.

His Pongal comedy-action film, Vaa Vaathiyar, arrived on the same platform within 14 days of release on January 28 in five languages.

Both fast digital premieres followed weak theatrical runs, raising concerns among trade analysts about shrinking OTT release windows.

Actor Karthi’s films are landing on streaming platforms faster than ever, and trade analysts are worried. His spy sequel, Sardar 2, begins streaming on Amazon Prime Video on October 1, ending its theatrical exclusivity in just 21 days. The quick digital move comes after the film struggled to draw big crowds, continuing a troubling pattern for the Tamil star’s releases this year.

Usually, big-ticket releases starring top actors get an exclusive cinema run of at least four to eight weeks before they head online. That window helps distributors and theatre owners recover their investments through ticket sales. But Sardar 2 marks Karthi’s second film this year to skip that norm and arrive on home screens in less than a month.

Growing Trouble for Big Screens

Earlier this year, Karthi’s comedy-action film Vaa Vaathiyar had an even shorter run at the box office. Despite releasing during the lucrative Sankranti festive season, the film failed to click with audiences. Producers quickly moved it to Amazon Prime Video on January 28 across five languages, hitting streaming just 14 days after its theatrical debut.

With Sardar 2 taking the same fast route, trade analysts point out that this trend could hurt movie halls. Audiences are only just returning to regular cinema visits. If moviegoers start believing that every underperforming film will arrive online in two to three weeks, advance bookings and opening-weekend footfalls could take a big hit. That shrinking window leaves theatre owners with very little time to recover their costs and keep seats filled.

The Paradise

Nani and Srikanth Odela’s The Paradise has completed six days of its theatrical run, and the film has achieved a significant milestone in the Nizam region. Despite the mixed word of mouth surrounding the film, The Paradise has managed to reach breakeven in Nizam with GST included.

The film’s Nizam share currently stands at around Rs. 30 crore, with Tuesday contributing roughly Rs. 83 lakh. Reaching breakeven within six days is a notable achievement, especially considering the talk the film has carried since the premiere shows.

Worldwide, The Paradise has collected around Rs. 170 crore gross so far. With the film entering the crucial weekday phase, its performance in the coming days will determine how much further it can stretch its theatrical run.

Meanwhile, Nani is actively promoting the film across Andhra Pradesh, keeping the spotlight on The Paradise as it continues its theatrical journey.

The film features Kayadu Lohar, Mohan Babu, Raghav Juyal, Sonali Kulkarni and others in key roles. Produced by SLV Cinemas, The Paradise has music composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
