For the past few days, multiple rumors have been circulating about a biopic on the legendary Carnatic singer MS Subbulakshmi. While Sai Pallavi was initially linked to the project, recent reports suggested that Rukmini Vasanth had replaced her.

However, the latest buzz suggests a surprising turn of events. Fresh reports indicate that neither Sai Pallavi nor Rukmini Vasanth is actually part of the film, and the project itself may not even be happening.

The producer who was reportedly backing the film has now dismissed these claims. As of now, there is no official confirmation, and with no credible updates from the makers, the project appears to be purely speculative.

King of Pop’s biopic, Michael, is the biggest Hollywood opener in India among musical biopics. According to trade reports, the film earned about Rs. 20 crores gross in its 3-day weekend, higher than Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour and Bohemian Rhapsody.

The first weekend nett is around Rs. 16.5 crores. South Indian circuits contributed the best for the biographical film, with three states amounting to 60% of the collections. On the other hand, the movie was slow in North India, where people give more preference to local music.

The film witnessed a good jump in business on Saturday and Sunday at the domestic box office. It appears that Michael will get a good long run, looking at today’s initial trends.

After playing a fierce cop in Satyabhama and ahead of her role in Sikandar alongside Salman Khan, Kajal Aggarwal signed the Bollywood project The India Story. The film went on floors in January 2025 and was wrapped up smoothly without delays. It is now back in the spotlight with a major update on its theatrical release.

Directed by Chettan DK and written and produced by Sagar B Shinde, The India Story, presented by Zee Studios in association with MIG Production & Studios, is scheduled to hit the big screens on July 24, 2026. The film will release in Hindi, along with Telugu and Tamil versions.

Kajal Aggarwal is joined by Shreyas Talpade in a key role. Backed by co-producers Sumit Bagade, Anita Jadhav, Vinayak Saidani, Kalpesh Shah, Devyani Khorate, and Prem Joshi, the film features a strong technical team, including cinematographer Nishant Bhagwat, music composer Mangesh Dhakde, editor Ashish Mhatre, lyricist Shakeel Azami, and sound designer Anmol Bhave.

The narrative explores the alarming consequences of chemical misuse, particularly in pesticide farming and related scandals. Moving beyond the story of a single family, it highlights a larger crisis affecting public health and safety, while shedding light on systemic lapses and the urgent need for stricter regulatory frameworks.

Senior actor Jagapathi Babu is coming up with the suspense-driven drama Vadhala, which blends emotional depth and a chilling premise. Laya and Hrithika Srinivas play key roles. The film is directed by Akella V Krishna and backed by producers Kishore Naidu Chirumamilla and Tammareddy Bharadwaj under the Charitha Chitra Production banner.

The makers, who earlier sparked intrigue with a glimpse, have now unveiled a gripping teaser. The story follows Yogi, a devoted husband whose life revolves around his wife, with the couple sharing a warm and affectionate bond. However, their seemingly perfect relationship is disrupted by a young girl close to the family, whose intense and obsessive attachment to Yogi threatens to upend their world.

Jagapathi Babu fits seamlessly into the role of a gentle husband, while Laya complements him well with her grounded performance. Hrithika Srinivas stands out with a character featuring negative shades, adding intrigue, and Ravi Varma appears in a key supporting role.

Director Akella V Krishna presents the story with suspense and emotional depth. Chota K Naidu’s gritty visuals and Karthik Kodakandla’s tense background score elevate the teaser, positioning Vadhala as a promising emotional thriller.

Actress Samyuktha has several films lined up for release this year, and one of them is The Black Gold. Announced in October 2025, the film marks her maiden female-oriented pan Indian action project, in which she plays a determined cop.

The film is back in the headlines as the makers have officially announced the wrap of the shoot. While the release date is yet to be locked, they have confirmed that exciting updates will be revealed soon.

Directed by Yogesh KMC, the film is produced by Razesh Danda and Sindhu Maganti under the Hasya Movies and Maganti Pictures banners. Sam CS composes the music, while Murali Sharma, Rao Ramesh, Nasser, and Manish Wadhwa play key roles.

Sai Pallavi is set to make her Bollywood debut with the film Ek Din, ahead of her appearance in Ramayana. She stars alongside Junaid Khan, son of Aamir Khan. The film is directed by Sunil Pandey and produced under Aamir Khan Productions. It is scheduled for a theatrical release on May 1, 2026.

As part of the promotions, a special event titled “Ek Din ki Mehfil” was held at SNDT College in Mumbai. The event was designed as a live music concert, offering audiences a glimpse into the film’s emotional and soulful soundtrack. It was attended by the lead actors Sai Pallavi and Junaid Khan, along with producer Aamir Khan and music composer Ram Sampath.

During the event, Aamir Khan was visibly emotional and shed tears while watching his son Junaid’s performance from the film. Sai Pallavi was seen consoling him. Later, while speaking on stage, Aamir praised Sai Pallavi and called her the best actress in the country right now.

The appreciation comes at a time when Sai Pallavi continues to deliver strong performances and consistent successes. With Ek Din and her upcoming role in Ramayana, she is expected to win over Bollywood audiences as well.

Ek Din is an official Indian remake of the 2016 Thai film One Day. The story revolves around an emotional and unconventional love story. Sai Pallavi plays Meera, a cheerful and lively character, while Junaid Khan portrays Dino, a socially awkward and reserved man. Their lives cross paths during a trip to Japan, where a major portion of the film was shot, including scenes set against the backdrop of the Sapporo Snow Festival.

The Telugu promotional content has also been released, and it remains to be seen whether the film will have a simultaneous Telugu release.
