Ramayana is one of the most anticipated Indian films set for a Diwali 2026 release. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash in key roles. A major update now making rounds is about the opening scene.

Contrary to expectations of a Rama vs Ravana start, the film is likely to open with a sequence between Ravana and Kubera near Mount Kailash. This shift in narrative focus has quickly fueled fresh discussion.

Yash has also clarified that there are no scenes between Ravana and Rama in Part 1. The core conflict between the two is being reserved for Part 2, which is planned for a Diwali 2027 release.

The film also features Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravie Dubey as Lakshmana, with more casting announcements expected. Produced by Namit Malhotra under Prime Focus Studios along with Monster Mind Creations and DNEG, Ramayana is being designed as a large scale visual spectacle.

It is being shot for IMAX and will also release in Dolby Cinema formats. Part 1 is slated to hit theatres during Diwali 2026.

Adivi Sesh’s Dacoit is performing well at the box office, but the movie did receive criticism for a few aspects. Especially, some felt the protagonist pulled off multiple heists without facing major challenges. In an interview, Sesh responded to the criticism, citing the lack of security in hospitals during the COVID period.

“I tried to make it realistic to the time of COVID. I’m always willing to take criticism. Even I say in the film that a robbery happened very easily. I am capable of writing a complex episode for the heist. Had I gone for the mind-game aspect, there would have been tonal confusion since Dacoit is a love story. We always wanted to make it as an emotion-backed love story,” said Sesh.

The actor added, “We tried preparing the audience that it’s not a mind-game film. In some ways, to a certain degree, I am a victim of my image. But I am grateful I have an image.”

However, there seems to be another unexpected development with the song shoot reportedly set to happen in May.

Currently, Buchi Babu Sana and team are said to be working on the patchwork for the Rai Rai Raa Raa song in RFC, Hyderabad. The word is that the special song will be filmed only in May. Since the release is scheduled in June with no specific date mentioned, the team won’t have deadline pressure.

Dacoit has zoomed past Rs. 50 crore at the box office and continues to remain a top choice among Telugu audiences. Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur have teamed up for this Telugu Hindi bilingual film directed by Shaniel Deo.

Starting today, the makers have introduced affordable ticket prices for Dacoit starting today. For single screens, the price is Rs. 70 and Rs. 105 in Andhra Pradesh, and Rs. 50, Rs. 80, and Rs. 105 in Telangana. For multiplexes in Hyderabad, the ticket price is Rs. 150. This is a significant price reduction for those who want to catch up on the film.

Ahead of its release, the makers have addressed a key concern among audiences. Many were unsure whether watching the first part was necessary to understand the sequel. Putting all doubts to rest, the team confirmed through a meme poster that Vaazha 2 can be enjoyed as a standalone film. This clarification is expected to encourage more viewers to watch it without hesitation.

Directed by debutant Savin SA, the coming-of-age drama features Hashir H, Alan Bin Siraj, Ajin Joy, and Vinayak V in lead roles.

With no major competition in the Telugu market this weekend, Vaazha 2 now has a clear opportunity to attract audiences. Its success, however, will largely depend on the word of mouth it generates after release.
