Producer Supriya has addressed the criticism surrounding Anurag Kashyap’s casting in Dacoit. While a section of the audience felt his presence did not add much and fell short of expectations, Supriya offered a different perspective.

Speaking in an interview, she revealed that Anurag was intentionally chosen for his freshness and the raw intensity he brings on screen, especially for the film’s crucial climax portions.

According to her, the team wanted someone unconventional who could deliver a distinct impact rather than a familiar face and that’s why they chose Anurag.

Supriya emphasized that his casting was a creative decision aimed at enhancing the film’s emotional depth, even if it sparked mixed reactions among viewers.
