April 2026

The much-anticipated Tollywood film Peddi, starring Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor, is shaping up to be one of the biggest releases this summer. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana and backed by music from A.R. Rahman, the film has already created strong buzz among fans. Originally slated for an April 30, 2026 release, the makers have now pushed it to June to ensure a more polished final product.

One of the major highlights currently in production is a special high-energy song set in the Uttarandhra dialect. To elevate the sequence, Shruti Haasan has been brought on board to shake leg with Ram Charan. After completing rehearsals, the shoot for the song has begun at a specially constructed set in Janwada, near Hyderabad.

Choreographed by Jani Master, this vibrant number is expected to be filmed over four days. With production nearing completion, the team is aiming to wrap up shooting by the end of April before moving into an intensive post-production phase.

Produced by Vriddhi Cinemas in association with Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings, Peddi also features a strong supporting cast including Shivarajkumar, Boman Irani, Jagapathi Babu, and Satya. With work progressing at a steady pace, an official release date announcement is expected soon.

The-Kerala-Story-2

One of the most talked-about films in recent times, The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond, is preparing for its digital debut. Despite the title, the film is not a direct sequel and instead features a completely new cast and a fresh narrative. It is headlined by Ulka Gupta, Aditi Bhatia, and Aishwarya Ojha, with direction by Kamakhya Narayan Singh and production by Vipul Amrutlal Shah.

While the movie was initially announced to premiere on ZEE5 on May 8, 2026, the streaming date has been moved forward to May 1, 2026. This preponement has caught many by surprise, as the specific reason behind the earlier release remains undisclosed by the makers or the platform. It follows a theatrical run that began in late February, during which the film faced several legal hurdles and received a lukewarm response at the box office.

The digital premiere will not be limited to its original Hindi version, as ZEE5 has confirmed its availability in multiple regional languages. Audiences can expect to stream the film in Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Tamil, ensuring a wider reach across the country. After the intense controversy and legal debates surrounding its theatrical release, industry experts are now closely watching how the film performs in the OTT space.

Kara

Kara

Kara is a Dhanush-starrer village crime drama directed by Vignesh Raja. The trailer has sparked strong interest among audiences, and the casting of Mamitha Baiju has become a major talking point.

However, Mamitha Baiju was not the first choice for the role. According to Vignesh Raja, Chaitra J Achar was initially finalised as the female lead. She was later replaced due to her similar traditional look in My Lord, which was scheduled for an earlier release and stars Sasikumar.

Following this, Mamitha Baiju, known for her bubbly roles, was approached and she surprisingly agreed to take on the part. It will be interesting to see how she adapts to this more intense, rooted character.

The film is set for April 30 release. It also features Suraj Venjaramoodu, Jayaram, KS Ravikumar, and Karunas in key roles. Kara is produced by Ishari K. Ganesh under the banner Vels Film International, with Kushmitha Ganesh as co-producer. The music is composed by GV Prakash Kumar.

Michael

Michael

Michael, the biopic on Michael Jackson, starred Jaafar Jackson in the lead role and was directed by Antoine Fuqua. The film was released to decent reviews from audiences, and an interesting twist has now come to light.

The makers made a major change to the film’s climax, removing the controversial allegations track from the narrative. The earlier version reportedly featured a strong third act focusing on the allegations that surfaced in the later phase of Jackson’s life. However, legal complications linked to past settlements forced the team to drop those portions.

Following this, the makers carried out reshoots and reworked the ending. The film now concludes on a safer note, highlighting Jackson’s rise and peak stardom while avoiding the controversial phase entirely. While this change ensured a smooth release, it also raises questions about how complete the story feels on screen.
