Lechindi Mahila Lokam was released in cinemas on March 26, 2026, but went largely unnoticed due to poor promotions. Manchu Lakshmi, Ananya Nagalla, Shraddha Das, Hari Teja, and Supritha Naidu headlined the film.

Yesterday, it made its way to Sun NXT, and now it is set to stream on another OTT platform as well. Amazon Prime Video will premiere it from tomorrow, which might help the film reach a wider audience.

The comedy drama, helmed by Arjun and Carthyk, is bankrolled by Hyma Rajasekhar, Shweta Mahi, and Nirosha Naveen. Sreerama Chandra, Hema, Bhadram, and others appear in supporting roles.

Shimit Amin, who delivered the classic Chak De India with Shah Rukh Khan, is once again returning to direction with an aerial actioner titled Captain India. The movie will be fronted by Kartik Aaryan, and the latest update reveals that Captain India will be released on August 13, 2027.

The industry has already started locking the Independence Day weekend window for 2027, a period that is considered lucrative for theatrical business. Captain India will feature Kartik Aaryan as an Air Force Pilot and is set against the backdrop of a true story.

Reportedly, Kartik Aaryan was the one who suggested Shimit Amin about Captain India subject, while the director was looking for interesting ideas. The biggie will be shot extensively in India and Morocco.

Dacoit, starring Adivi Sesh, had a good run at the box office. The actor is now busy with the post-release promotions, and in an interview, Sesh recalled a harsh experience when a netizen asked him if he even had fans.

Adivi Sesh said, “Once I tweeted about Goodachari 2 and I used the word ‘fans.’ A netizen asked me if I even had fans. Generally, I don’t have the habit of reading comments. I was referring to Goodachari franchise fans. There are people who come to theatres because they like me. But he still criticised me. I told him that’s the credibility I have earned from the audiences.”

Sesh added, “That credibility word is once again in the spotlight as media started using it to talk about Dacoit’s performance. In an industry that has top stars like Shah Rukh Khan garu, Pawan Kalyan garu, and Mahesh Babu garu, Dacoit running well till the second weekend, passing the Monday test is a big achievement. There are other means of entertainment now, including OTT, Instagram, and IPL, but Dacoit overcame them.”

Ramayana is one of the most anticipated Indian films set for a Diwali 2026 release. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash in key roles. A major update now making rounds is about the opening scene.

Contrary to expectations of a Rama vs Ravana start, the film is likely to open with a sequence between Ravana and Kubera near Mount Kailash. This shift in narrative focus has quickly fueled fresh discussion.

Yash has also clarified that there are no scenes between Ravana and Rama in Part 1. The core conflict between the two is being reserved for Part 2, which is planned for a Diwali 2027 release.

The film also features Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravie Dubey as Lakshmana, with more casting announcements expected. Produced by Namit Malhotra under Prime Focus Studios along with Monster Mind Creations and DNEG, Ramayana is being designed as a large scale visual spectacle.

It is being shot for IMAX and will also release in Dolby Cinema formats. Part 1 is slated to hit theatres during Diwali 2026.

Adivi Sesh’s Dacoit is performing well at the box office, but the movie did receive criticism for a few aspects. Especially, some felt the protagonist pulled off multiple heists without facing major challenges. In an interview, Sesh responded to the criticism, citing the lack of security in hospitals during the COVID period.

“I tried to make it realistic to the time of COVID. I’m always willing to take criticism. Even I say in the film that a robbery happened very easily. I am capable of writing a complex episode for the heist. Had I gone for the mind-game aspect, there would have been tonal confusion since Dacoit is a love story. We always wanted to make it as an emotion-backed love story,” said Sesh.

The actor added, “We tried preparing the audience that it’s not a mind-game film. In some ways, to a certain degree, I am a victim of my image. But I am grateful I have an image.”
