Varun Dhawan has come up with the rom-com entertainer Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai. The movie also starring Pooja Hegde and Mrunal Thakur hit the big screens yesterday, and received mixed reviews from critics.

The film opened on a fair note at the box office earning around Rs. 7.5 crores nett as per trade reports. The makers have offered a 50% discount on the tickets for the opening day. Hence the movie needs to show good growth over the weekend to be in a safe position.

Directed by David Dhawan, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai also stars Mouni Roy, Rakesh Bedi, Maniesh Paul, and Chunky Pandey in crucial roles. Ramesh Taurani is the producer. Yunus Sajawal provided the story.

“I had not anticipated that the scenes would be perceived so negatively by audiences. The idea was to showcase a playful romance story between Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor. However, we’ll be more careful and make better representations,” said Buchi Babu Sana.
