Dacoit producer Supriya Yarlagadda believes people won’t watch films based on box office collections. This statement seems a bit strange, as some producers inflate figures on posters intentionally to draw audiences to theatres.

In an interview with Hollywood Reporter India, Supriya said, “They are going to come and watch if their neighbour or partner said it was good. Or if it reached them and found something about it, good. As a child, I remember the conversations would be about the quarter-page ad that we were going to put for the second week’s collections. The aspect of money is always linked to the success of a film.”

Surpiya feels that if wrong information is given about a film’s box office numbers, then the perception changes among the audience. She believes there is nothing wrong with putting out what her film did.

Satya and Ritesh Rana’s Jetlee is set to release in cinemas on May 1. The movie had its trailer launch event recently, during which producer Cherry revealed that Jetlee was initially conceived as an intense thriller but ended up becoming a comedy thriller.

“Initially, we wanted to make it an intense thriller with a big hero, but things didn’t go the way we expected. Later, Ritesh changed the script and brought comedy into it. Since the subject now has fun elements, Ritesh roped in Satya and Vennela Kishore instantly, and now we are here with a good film,” said Cherry.

Miss Universe India 2024 Rhea Singha plays the female lead. Ajay, Viva Harsha, and Kabir Duhan Singh will be seen in key roles. Co-produced by Hemalatha Pedamallu and presented by Mythri Movie Makers, Jetlee features music by Kaala Bhairava.
