Maa-Inti-Bangaaram

Maa-Inti-Bangaaram

Samantha’s Maa Inti Bangaram, directed by Nandini Reddy, is slated for release on May 15, but the latest trade reports suggest that the film might be pushed to June 4, the slot that became vacant after Toxic’s postponement.

The ongoing IPL 2026 season will hit a new peak during mid-May, with league matches almost nearing the end, and playoffs about to begin. Since the majority of the audience’s attention will be towards the biggest T20 league, there seems to be a growing demand among distributors of Samantha starrer to reconsider the release window.

Samanatha herself is producing the film, and the final call will be taken by her. Maa Inti Bangaram also features Gulshan Devaiah, Diganth Manchale, Gautami Tadimalla, Sreemukhi, Srilakshmi, Anjali, and Sathyaraj in key roles. Santosh Narayanan is the music composer.

Ustaad Bhagat Singh

Ustaad Bhagat Singh

Despite emerging as a flop in theatres, Pawan Kalyan’s Ustaad Bhagat Singh is having a great run in the digital space. The film, directed by Harish Shankar, has found a new lease of life on Netflix. In its first weekend, the movie clocked 2.5 million views and 6.2 million viewing hours, securing a spot among the top 3 non-English films on the streamer.

The movie continued to remain stable by adding another 1.9 million views and 4.7 million viewing hours to its tally after the first weekend. So far, Ustaad Bhagat Singh garnered 4.4 million views and 10.9 million viewing hours, the highest for any South-Indian film on Netflix in 2026 so far (post-theatrical releases). Currently, it is trending at the fifth spot worldwide (non-English films).

In its 2-week digital journey, Ustaad Bhagat Singh is ahead of other South films, including Youth, Akhanda 2, Anaganaga Oka Raju, and Mrithyunjay. The star power of Pawan Kalyan is helping the film pull in these extraordinary numbers, even though it received negative reviews. Sreeleela and Raashii Khanna played the female leads. Mythri Movie Makers backed this biggie.

Tumbbad-2

Tumbbad 2, the highly anticipated sequel to one of India’s most celebrated horror films, is set to arrive in cinemas on December 3, 2027, a slot recently dominated by big-ticket entertainers. The first film was initially a flop at the box office, but over the years, it gained cult status among audiences. Later, the folk horror thriller was re-released in theatres, and the repeat run struck gold, earning over Rs. 30 crores.

The re-release instilled confidence in makers to proceed with the sequel. Aadesh Prasad, who worked as the co-director for the first film, directed the sequel headlined by Sohum Shah. Nimisha Sajayan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui play key roles. The makers state that the sequel expands on the story and scale, while staying true to the original’s tonality.

The team will blend mythology and horror elements while also exploring new layers within the story. Sohum Shah Films is co-producing Tumbbad 2 along with Jayantilal Gada’s Pen Studios. Pen Marudhar will distribute the film.
