Kannappa, the recently released pan-India historical magnum opus featuring Vishnu Manchu in the lead, had a decent outing at the global box office in its opening weekend. Also starring Prabhas, Mohanlal, Akshay Kumar, Kajal Aggarwal, Mohan Babu, and others in prominent roles, the film continues to get rave reviews from all quarters.

On Sunday night, Vishnu Manchu and Mohan Babu organized a special screening of Kannappa for political leaders and celebrities. Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Minister of Cinematography Komatireddy Venkata Reddy, and Minister Ponnam Prabhakar watched the movie and gave a positive review.

Addressing the media after the screening, Dy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said Kannappa exceeded all expectations and that Vishnu’s portrayal of Arjuna, Thinnadu, and Kannappa was outstanding. The Deputy CM congratulated Mohan Babu for producing such a landmark film. “Kannappa’s story, narrative, visuals, and acting were all top-class. This film will surely be a milestone in the Telugu film industry,” he added.

Minister of Cinematography Komatireddy Venkata Reddy praised the film for its exceptional quality. “It has been a long time since I’ve seen such a great film. My heartfelt thanks to Mohan Babu and Vishnu for creating this masterpiece. The film is sure to captivate the hearts of Lord Shiva devotees. As the Cinematography Minister, I urge filmmakers to continue producing such films that showcase our rich culture and stories for wider audiences,” said the minister.

Renowned Hindi filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar has heaped praise on Telugu superstar Allu Arjun, calling him the new superstar of Indian cinema.

In a recent interaction, Bhandarkar stated that after the phenomenal success of Pushpa, Allu Arjun’s stardom has reached unmatched heights.

“In today’s time, no one can touch Allu Arjun’s craze. He is a true pan-India star,” he said. The director also lauded Allu Arjun’s transformation, mass appeal, and ability to connect with audiences across regions.

As anticipation builds for Allu Arjun-Atlee film, Bhandarkar’s comments reflect the growing recognition of Allu Arjun as a force in Indian cinema.

The next big thing from Kollywood is Coolie spearheaded by Superstar Rajinikanth. The movie is being directed by one of the modern greats, Lokesh Kanagaraj. Unlike Lokesh’s recent films, Coolie is a standalone project and is slated to hit the screens on August 14.

The movie has solid buzz in Telugu states, too. Due to the sensational hype, several top Tollywood producers have tried their best to bag the Telugu version’s rights. The latest update reveals that Asian Group has grabbed the theatrical rights for a whopping price. They will be releasing the film through Asian Multiplexes Private Limited in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

If the film receives good reports, it will be a jackpot for all the parties involved, considering the hype and star cast. Aamir Khan, Nagarjuna, Shruti Hassan, Upendra, and Soubin Shahir play key roles. Pooja Hegde will be seen in a special song. Backed by Sun Pictures, the music is being handled by Anirudh.

Suriya teamed up with Vetrimaaran for the film Vaadivaasal, which is based on Tamil Nadu’s most celebrated traditional sport, Jallikattu. The project has faced multiple delays, leading to growing frustration among Suriya’s fans. Vetrimaaran has spent considerable time on pre-production, particularly focusing on animatronics, but there is still no clarity on when the film will go on floors.

The filmmaker has finally addressed the delay while announcing his new film with Simbu. Vetrimaaran clarified that Vaadivaasal has been postponed due to multiple reasons, citing writing as one of the most challenging aspects of this rural sports drama. Additionally, the team has been dedicating significant time to technical preparations and safety measures to prevent any injuries to the actors.

As Vaadivaasal began taking more time than expected, Vetrimaaran decided to move forward with Simbu’s project, reportedly on Dhanush’s suggestion. Vetrimaaran narrated a story to Simbu, and with everything falling into place quickly, he temporarily set Vaadivaasal aside.

The much-awaited comedy-drama Hera Pheri 3, headlined by Akshay Kumar, went on floors recently. However, after a day of shooting, Paresh Rawal announced his exit from the project without citing a proper reason. This led to a huge backlash around the actor. Akshay Kumar, who also is producing the film, sued Paresh Rawal for his unprofessional behaviour and claimed damages worth Rs. 25 crores.

This controversy has gathered huge momentum on social media with continuous chatter about the iconic franchise. Many felt no one could match Paresh Rawal’s portrayal of Babu Bhaiya. Fans of the franchise felt disheartened looking at the development.

The latest update reveals that Paresh Rawal is returning to Hera Pheri 3. Paresh Rawal addressed the controversy in a podcast on The Himanshu Mehta show. The Bollywood actor said, “When a project is loved by so many, it becomes a responsibility to treat it with extra care. You can’t take things for granted. It is all resolved now.”

When asked whether Hera Pheri 3 is progressing as planned, Paresh Rawal said, “It was always meant to happen. But sometimes, things need a bit of fine-tuning between everyone involved, since they are all creative individuals. Priyadarshan, Akshay, and Suniel Shetty have been my friends for many years.”

After Sankranthiki Vasthunnam, ace producer Dil Raju is back with a new film titled Thammudu, featuring Nithiin in the lead. Sapthami Gowda plays the female lead, while Laya returns in a pivotal role.

As the film gears up for its July 4, 2025 release, director Venu Sriram met the media today and shared intriguing insights. He was quick to clarify that Thammudu isn’t your typical hero-driven fare. Drawing comparisons with Kamal Haasan’s Vikram, Venu said the film follows a similarly emotional and layered journey.

In a surprising reveal, he added, “Thammudu is actually inspired by a newspaper article I read. That single piece sparked it all.” However, he remained tight-lipped about the article’s contents, promising that the reveal will be worth the wait.

Produced by Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Creations, Thammudu has music by Kantara fame Ajaneesh Loknath. The ensemble cast also includes Varsha Bollamma, Swasika Vijay, and child artist Dithya. With its mysterious inspiration, emotional promise, and a fresh team-up, Thammudu seems poised to hit hard – not just with action, but with heart.

All eyes are now on the trailer of Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu, which is set to release on July 3, 2025. The makers are reportedly confident that the trailer will turn the tables and renew momentum for the much-awaited epic.

The trailer will also be screened in select theaters across Andhra Pradesh on the same day, same time. The team behind HHVM has released a list of 29 theaters across various regions of the state where fans can catch the theatrical trailer on the big screen. The Telangana theaters list will be dropped soon.

This pan-Indian historical action saga is directed by Krish Jagarlamudi and Jyothi Krisna and it features Nidhhi Agerwal, Bobby Deol, and Nassar in pivotal roles.
